ReadingScan: the homepage

ReadingScan helps patients understand their medical imaging reports using artificial intelligence. Users upload X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound or PET scan reports and images, and receive explanations of each finding in plain English, along with information about what the scan ruled out and questions to discuss with their doctor.

The service provides a free preview of the first scan, showing urgency levels, the first sentence of findings, the radiologist's conclusion, two questions for the doctor, recommended next tests, and symptoms requiring emergency care. The full report, available for a one-time payment, includes complete explanations of all findings, a list of ruled-out conditions, a glossary of medical terms, and access to follow-up chat.

ReadingScan emphasizes that it is educational only and not a diagnosis. The service processes reports and images securely, with encryption in transit and at rest, and never sells patient health data.

Neighbours ask

Can ReadingScan help me understand my MRI or CT report?

Yes. You can upload the written report as a PDF or screenshot from your patient portal, photos of the images, or both. You receive each finding in plain English, what it means, what the scan ruled out, and questions to ask your doctor. X-ray and ultrasound reports work the same way.

What do I get for free?

In most countries, a free preview of your report showing how urgent the findings look, the first sentence of each finding, the radiologist's conclusion headline, two questions for your doctor, the next recommended test, and symptoms that warrant emergency care. The full report adds complete explanations of every finding, the list of what was ruled out, the glossary and follow-up chat, available for a one-time payment.

How accurate is it?

ReadingScan is an educational explanation, not a diagnosis, and it can be wrong. It is least reliable when all it has is one photo of one image with no written report. Use it to prepare for your appointment and confirm anything important with your doctor.

Does this replace my radiologist or doctor?

No. The radiologist who signed your report is responsible for the diagnosis. ReadingScan explains what they wrote and helps you decide what to ask.

How long does it take?

Usually two to five minutes. Half of all reports are finished in about two and a half minutes, and nine in ten within five and a half.
