Jobora is self-hosted field-service software designed for technicians and trades on the road. It converts customer quotes into jobs through a link-based acceptance system, eliminating manual data entry. The schedule board enforces automatic double-booking prevention and allows drag-and-drop job assignment. Job costing tracks labor, materials and subcontractors against quoted amounts to calculate real margins. Invoices can be paid by card through your own Stripe account, with payment reminders and follow-ups sent through your own email server. Does Jobora process payment cards directly?
No. Jobora does not process cards. When card payment is enabled, your customer pays the invoice through your own Stripe account's page. Jobora only records the payment that Stripe reports and never sees the card details. Without Stripe, an invoice carries your own payment link.
Will Jobora start sending emails to customers automatically upon installation?
No. Customer email must be switched on twice before anything is sent, and it only goes through your own SMTP server. Internal notes and margin figures are never included in customer emails.
Can Jobora run on shared hosting?
Yes. Jobora runs on PHP 8.1+ with PDO and either MySQL or SQLite. The MySQL path is not required; 32 checks run against MariaDB in strict mode, including money reference cases. Standard shared hosting is compatible.
What happens if you edit a quote after a customer has accepted it?
The quoted figure is a snapshot taken at the moment of acceptance and written to the job. Later edits to the quote do not change what the finished job earned, so past months' margins remain unchanged.
Is the digital signature legally binding?
The signature is captured but not verified. It is not identity verification and not eIDAS-qualified. It carries the evidential weight of a signature on a paper job sheet—proof that somebody signed at the door.
