About Ecommerce & Retail

This is the corner of New Biz Launches for anyone selling things to other people. Some of the businesses here have a shopfront with a hand-painted sign. Others live entirely on a screen and post parcels from a spare room. Both count, and both are new enough that most people haven't yet heard of them.

You can browse the whole category or step into a subcategory: online stores and the platforms that run them, dropshipping and supply, marketplaces, and physical retail shops. Filters help you narrow things down, and listings appear newest first unless you sort by community votes.

Every listing sits in one main category, picked by the founder at submission. If you run a shop, a stall or a store, add it here and tell your town what you sell and where to find you.

Ecommerce & Retail: questions answered

What kind of businesses belong in Ecommerce & Retail?
Anything that sells goods to customers, whether through a website, a marketplace seller account or a physical shop. It also covers the tools and suppliers that help new sellers get started. If your business sells a service rather than products, another category will suit it better.
How do I choose between the subcategories?
Pick the one that describes how customers mostly buy from you. A shop with a till goes in Retail shops. A site you run yourself goes in Online stores and platforms. Selling through someone else's storefront suits Marketplaces, and supply or fulfilment services suit Dropshipping and suppliers.
How do I get my shop listed here?
Go to /submit and paste your website address. An AI drafts your profile from that site, then you check and edit every field before anything goes live. You choose one main category, which is included free. A free listing joins a queue of about 6-8 weeks, while a paid launch costs $5.
How are listings ordered on this page?
Newest listings come first by default, so recent openings are easy to spot. You can switch to sorting by community votes instead. Votes can never be bought, so that order reflects what visitors actually chose to back.
Can a shop appear in more than one category?
Yes. Every listing has one main category included free, and a paid upgrade adds up to 3 more categories for $5. A shop that sells online and also trades from a unit could be listed under both, for example.
