About the business

Calk: the homepage

Calk is a calorie counter built around editable meal templates rather than endless food databases. You log familiar meals in two taps, changing only what differs each day. After a month of ordinary food logging, a Nutrition Report identifies your repeating meals and suggests specific changes: fewer calories per gram, more protein, and more fiber in dishes you already eat.

Once you've made these changes part of your routine, daily food logging ends. The app then tracks your weight trend, suggesting short food checks only when weight drift becomes significant enough to warrant one. Calk operates offline, contains no ads, and requires no kitchen scale for every meal—portion estimates are built into meal templates.

The core features—food logging, calorie and macro targets, weight tracking, and a weekly Variety Map—are free forever. Daily advice and monthly Nutrition Reports come with an annual subscription, with the first month free.

Neighbours ask

What is Calk?

Calk is a calorie counter built around editable meal templates. You log a familiar meal in two taps, change only what was different today, and a month of that becomes a Nutrition Report. It names your repeating meals and what to add or replace in them. Daily food logging ends once the changes you chose become habits. You then follow your weight trend and return to the diary for a short check when needed.

How is Calk different from a diet?

Calk has no forbidden foods, no menu or meal plan. What changes is the composition of familiar meals: fewer calories per gram, more protein and fiber. A restriction stops working when it ends, but a familiar dish you have changed keeps repeating on its own.

Can you count calories without a kitchen scale?

Yes. A meal template lets you choose ingredients, cooking method, additions and a portion estimate. You can weigh an unfamiliar dish once for reference, but Calk does not require a scale at every meal.

Do you have to log every day?

Log ordinary food for at least a month and keep going until the changes you chose from the report become part of your routine. Then daily logging ends. Follow your weight trend and return for a short food check when needed.

What can you use for free?

Food logging, daily calorie and macro targets, weight entry and the weight-trend chart are free, as is a shareable seven-day Variety Map. The first month of daily advice and monthly reports is free; after that they come with the annual subscription.
