GrogLog: the homepage

GrogLog is a drink diary app designed for people who want to consume less alcohol. It keeps an accurate count of drinks and displays them prominently: today's total compared to yesterday and your usual day, a daily budget that decreases at your chosen pace, and a calendar showing how each day went. The app works offline and syncs only through your own iCloud account with no server involvement or account creation required.

The app counts UK units with prices and calories from a catalogue of over eleven hundred drinks at their label strengths. It sets a gradual reduction plan within UK clinical guidance limits and charts weekly and monthly progress against previous periods. Users can also view heart rate, HRV and sleep data from Apple Health against their drinking from the previous evening. The app provides no medical advice and is intended to support a plan agreed with a GP or alcohol service.

Neighbours ask

How is my data stored and kept private?

GrogLog stores your log on your phone and syncs only through your own iCloud account. There is no server and no account created with GrogLog. Your data is stored in the private part of iCloud that belongs to your Apple Account, which only you can read, and neither the developer nor anyone else has access to it.

How does moving to a new phone work?

Your log moves with an iPhone backup or when you set up a new phone from an old one. You can also export it from Setup > Data > Export backup and import that file on the new phone.

Does GrogLog provide medical advice?

No, GrogLog does not provide medical advice. It is intended to help you follow a plan agreed with your GP or an alcohol service. If you are worried about your drinking, your GP is a good place to start.

What happens to Apple Health and Health Connect data in GrogLog?

Data from Apple Health and Health Connect is used only to show readings in the app. It is processed on your phone and never leaves it. GrogLog does not send health data to the developer or anyone else, does not use it for advertising, and does not include it in exports.
